In some books these dogs are listed under Shar Pei. Under the AKC they are listed as the Chinese Shar Pei. It took me a while longer to find it in the list so I went to search for it at the AKC search field. Luckily for us we still have the Shar Pei as a breed. Under the Chinese regime they were destroying dogs and the Shar Pei was leaning towards extinction. The Shar Pei came to the USA in the 1960's and was recognized by the AKC in 1991. "Shar Pei" means "sand skin" but fits more to rough sandy coat or sandpaper coat. The Shar Pei has a Blue Black tongue like the Chow Chow. It has been around since 200 BC. Currently the Shar Pei is #64 on the Most Popular Breed List.
Wheel House Designs Shar Pei Sock starts on a Grey background with Black Diamonds. Under the Cuff in Bold Black Print on both sides reads, "Shar Pei". The Portraits of the Shar Pei are both Frontal views showing a Fawn Shar Pei with its Bistre Muzzle and Chocolate Folds. The Poses on the Sock are of Shar Pei Standing and Sitting and Laying Down some are alone or in twos. They look to be Fawn and Brown Shar Pei in Color.
