The second installment in a series devoted to the Chicago Symphony Orchestra’s second music director, Frederick Stock, hear rare and recently restored recordings from the late 1920s on this incredible two-disc set. Documented here are historic recordings made at the Goodman Theatre — a venue selected due to the over-reverberant acoustics of Orchestra Hall at the time — and a Wagner arrangement by CSO founder Theodore Thomas. Each track was carefully restored by Mark Obert-Thorn.
